Beginning as a jazz bassist in New York, where he studied with legends Gary Peacock and Reggie Workman, John von Seggern has had a successful international career that's taken him from Tokyo's jazz clubs to Hong Kong's pop music scene to the Los Angeles electronic underground. Along the way he founded Digital Cutup Lounge, one of Asia's pioneering live computer music acts, learned to play the Chapman Stick, and worked as a remixer for major international pop artists like Nelly Furtado.
As a professional musician and producer, John has contributed sound design to major films like Pixar's WALL-E, performed on five world tours, and co-produced 2 groundbreaking albums with legendary electronic music pioneer Jon Hassell. His work with industry legends also includes training Herbie Hancock and Dr. Dre's production team while at Native Instruments, where he literally wrote the manual for their famous MASSIVE synthesizer.
