Synthesis 1 teaches the core skill behind modern sound design: hearing a sound and understanding how it was made. You'll learn the fundamentals of subtractive synthesis: oscillators, filters, and amp envelopes, by working directly inside Primer, Futureproof’s in-browser wavetable synth.
Instead of memorizing definitions or watching passive tutorials, you'll listen, compare, adjust, and rebuild sounds by ear. By the end, you'll understand how to choose the right raw waveform, shape tone with filters, and turn a simple signal into a pluck, pad, bass, or stab using volume envelopes. The goal is practical confidence: knowing what to reach for when a sound in your track needs to be brighter, softer, punchier, smoother, shorter, or more expressive.
